Small screen has undergone a sea change in the last two decades. New faces have replaced older characters and plots.
TV actors, who were once hot property on TV and hard to forget, left the medium and moved on to explore unchartered territories. Here's taking a look at actors who haven't been seen on the small screen for a long time now and what they are doing:
Sukirti Kandpal
Sukirti Kandpal shot to fame after playing the role of Dr. Riddhima in the popular show Dill Mill Gayye. She then went on to be a part of some other hit TV shows like Agle Janam Mohe
Bitiya Hi Kijo, Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, Comedy Circus and Bigg Boss 8 to a name a few. However, of late, the actress has not been able to get a meaty role. The actress was last seen in Kaala Teeka which went off-air soon. The actress is nowadays mostly seen spending her time travelling to beautiful locations.
Ragini Khanna
Ragini Khanna, who rose to fame with Sasural Genda Phool has been away from the small screen for quite some time now. The actress, who started her career with Radha Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar
Dikhayengi went on to prove her versatility with shows like Bhaskar Bharti, Star Ya Rockstar, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Comedy Circus to name a few. The actress is now doing films in Bollywood.
Jay Soni
The actor, who is well remembered for his roles in shows like Baa Bahoo aur Baby, Sasural Genda Phool briefly disappeared from the small screen before coming back in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke
Aise Bhi. In between, he also hosted reality shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs and Comedy Superstars. He was also seen in the show Bhaag Bakool Bhaag, which was soon axed into low TRPs.
Gurmeet Chaudhary
Gurmeet Chaudhary: The actor, who won the hearts of telly viewers by playing Lord Ram in serial Ramayana, has been missing from the small screen. Having done several reality and fiction shows such as Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Mayavi, Geet – Hui Sabse Parayi and
Punar Vivah, Gurmeet is now doing Bollywood films.
Aamna Sharif, who started her television career with the hit show 'Kahiin To Hoga' opposite Rajeev Khandelwal, hasn't returned to Television ever since. The actress is married to film distributor-turned-producer Amit Kapoor. The couple was blessed with a
baby boy, Arin in 2015. On her Instagram account, Aamna can be seen enjoying motherhood to the fullest and doesn't seem to be in a rush to return to work for now.
Nausheen Ali Sardar:
Kkusum ran successfully for five years due to which Nausheen Ali Sardar became a household name. Her conviction and compelling screen presence inspired many young girls and women.
Kkusum gave her instant fame. She had briefly appeared in Ganga. However, her stint only made fans long for more.
Iqbal Khan
Iqbal Khan's hot looks made the show Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai one of the most popular shows of prime time. Iqbal started off in the show as an anti-hero and gained tremendous fan following. He became a part of many other TV shows after that, but none of his
characters could get so much popularity like the one in Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai. The actor, who was a part of Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani and made a cameo in Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant, has not returned in a full-fledged role on TV for a long time now.
Simone Singh
Simone created a rage among the audience with her dynamic performance in and as Heena. She played the role of a
Muslim woman whose husband was in love with another woman. This style diva apparently made wrong choices in her career and, due to this, she was seen in insignificant roles post Heena and gradually she disappeared from the small screen.
Rajeev Khandelwal:
'Kahiin To Hoga' made Rajeev Khandelwal: a popular name among the viewers, but the actor soon faded from the small screen after appearance on game shows and talk shows.
Rajeev shifted his focus from the small screen to the big screen and went ahead to act in films.
karan singh grover
Karan Singh Grover's career started on a high note on Television with shows like Dill Mill Gayye and
Qubool Hai. He soon became a hot favourite of the girls. But, he too couldn't resist the temptation of trying his luck in films and bade adieu to TV.
samir soni
Samir Soni became an instant hit with the telly audience with shows like Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin and
Parichay. His good looks and acting chops made him quite popular. The actor, who has starred in several films now, has been missing from the small screen off late.
