Speculations regarding Bollywood fashionista Sonam Kapoor's wedding with beau Anand Ahuja are rife since past month. Earlier, there were reports that mass ticket booking is underway for Sonam's destination wedding, however latest development suggests something entirely different.
A Mumbai Mirror report earlier stated: ''The date and venue for the wedding have been locked and mass bookings for flights are presently underway. Her dad Anil Kapoor is personally making phone calls to invite guests. There will be sangeet and mehendi ceremonies, followed by a traditional Hindu wedding''. But new reports say that the diva will get married in Mumbai itself. An entertainment portal claims that the wedding will take place on May 7 and 8 and it will be a big fat Indian wedding. There will be three different functions- Mehendi, Sangeet and the D-Day and all of these will be held at three different venues.
If reports are anything to go by then, Sonam and Anand's sangeet will be held at the actress’s bestie Samyukta Nair's five-star resort-style hotel, The Leela at Sahar. We have already told you that Farah Khan will be choreographing the sangeet. Along with Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor, others who will be shaking a leg are Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor.
Next function, Mehendi will be held at Sonam’s 35-crore luxurious duplex apartment in Sunteck Signature Island building at Bandra Kurla Complex. The apartment is spread across a vast area of over 7,000 square feet. The ceremony will be held in a ballroom-like banquet area.
Finally comes the D-Day, which will be conducted at the heritage mansion of Sonam’s aunt Kavita Singh (mother Sunita’s sister) at Bandra Bandstand near Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow Mannat. The 55,000 square feet property is said to have a spectacular pooja room.
Excited after reading this? Well, we have wait and see whether these reports turn out to be true or not.
On the professional front, Sonam is currently busy promoting her film Veere Di Wedding. The chick flick directed by Shashanka Ghosh also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Swara Bhasker.
