Hum Paanch cast: Then and now

01. Saas-bahu sagas and reality shows rule the idiot box these days. But there was a time when the entire family used to sit together and enjoy TV shows. After Hum Paanch, Bhairavi was also seen in shows like - Astitva: Ek Prem Kahaniand Sasural Genda Phool. Her role as Bhagwati Khajaan Singh was quite hard-hitting.

Abhishek Kapoor

The producers of Rock On!! 2 have finally agreed on giving credit to Abhishek Kapoor as a co-writer of the film's story.

Abhishek had moved the Bombay High Court against film writer Pubali Chaudhuri and Farhan Akhtar claiming joint credit for the story of the sequel to 2008 film, Rock On!!, which he had written and directed himself. The screenplay credit will only be that of Pubali Chaudhuri. The High Court then passed the order by consent of both the sides.

Shaandaar Movie Review

Vikas Bahl

2 hours 25 minutes

STORY: A Punjabi girl and a Sindhi groom are to have a destination wedding in Britain. Simultaneously, the bride's sister also gets romantically entangled with the wedding planner.

REVIEW: Shaandaar has a fun plot. However in his attempt to spoof destination weddings of the bankrupt and the famous, Vikas Bahl, (who also directed that gem, Queen) forgot to take a script along.

You can defend the director's indulgence or even forgive him for borrowing Tarantino's Kill-Bill, part-animation, part-live narrative style to tell you the tale of an orphan girl who is given shelter by an affluent businessman, Bipin (Pankaj Kapur). The tycoon's harridan mum (Sushma Seth) and ambitious wife (Nikki Aneja) do not take a shine to the child. Even worse, the bechari anath is an insomniac. The story-telling attempt is wearisome. Years later, Bipin's belligerent mother decides to get his daughter, Isha (Sanah Kapur) married into a rich Sindhi family called Fundwanis (howlarious!). This 'deal' has to go through or they will remain cash-strapped for life. Everyone is scared shit of 'mummyji'' so they abide by what she says.

Talvar review: Despite its flaws, the Irrfan-Konkona starrer is a brave film that devastates

Talvar movie review: The film is as real as a constructed-for-the-camera document can be, with its portrayal of the professional rivalries between the investigating teams, and insatiable media persons.

Talvar movie review: It is a difficult film to watch because we know all along that we are not in some fictitious la-la land; we are in Noida, where the killings took place, and the events that unfold have a distinct ring of reality.

In ‘Talvar’, the 14-year-old girl killed in her bed in the dead of night, is called Shruti Tandon. But we know that it is the thinly-disguised story of Arushi Talwar, whose murder still remains the foulest of them all: her parents Rajesh and Nupur, both doctors with a flourishing practice, were convicted and sent to jail.
