As they say, behind every successful man is a woman, and debutante Bhavna Ruparel takes pride in playing that woman — on screen that is. Ruparel, who plays Rahil Tandon's love interest in Chal Pichchur Banate Hai, says, "She is his better half who ensures that he is successful in achieving his dream."
Talking about her character, she says, "There was quite a bit of me in Melrena, my character. Like her, I have a clear mind and cannot manipulate my thoughts. And like her, I am quite easy going. That way, essaying Melrena came pretty naturally to me."
Bhavna feels that the movie is the kind the audience will connect to easily. She explains, "The viewer will find a bit of themselves in the film. They will feel that this is their story. Every individual, at some point in his/her life, has been an actor's fan or has wanted to associate himself with the glamour world. And that emotion has been captured in the film. In fact, the audience will take the film with them after leaving the theatre." She further adds, "The film encourages you to follow your dream. You rebel but not without a cause."
And just like the film, Bhavna has followed her dream too. "I always aspired to be an actress. I remember draping a flowing dupatta and dancing away to glory to any music as a child. And here I am," she laughs.
About her co-actor, she says, "He's been excellent to work with, always helpful and cooperative. We had a blast shooting in Goa." Bhavna, who also happens to be Sonakshi Sinha's cousin, (Bhavna's grandfather and Sonakshi's grandmother are siblings) is not rattled when associated with her. "I feel it's an honour because Sonakshi is beautiful, talented and well-grounded. I feel proud of her achievements."
Produced by Madan Jain and directed by Pritish Chakravorty, Chal Pichchur Banate Hain releases September 7.
